The Best of the Huntress: America vs The Justice Society #1 Review

Title: America vs The Justice Society #1
Story: I Accuse/Witness for the Persecution
Characters: Batman (Bruce Wayne), Huntress (Helena Wayne), Robin (Dick Grayson), The Justice Society
Creators: Roy Thomas (writer), Rafael Kayanan (artist)
Publication Date: January 1985
Available In: Print | Digital

Summary: Chapter 01 opens up with the Justice Society holding an impromptu meeting at their old Civic City headquarters instead of their main one in Gotham. Together, they discuss a press release from the Daily Star claiming to have a diary from Batman, exposing the team's allegiance to Hitler during World War II. Everyone, including Clark Kent (who by this point in his life is editor-in-chief of the Daily Star), are astounded by the fact that the Star printed the story. Clark begins to recount to his teammates how the diary came into the possession of the Star and what he actually read inside the diary.

America vs the Justice Society Preview

Today, America vs the Justice Society was released in trade along with Justice Society of America: A Celebration of 75 Years.

At the moment, both trades are only available for digital download, and the print versions are only available to people who pre-ordered them online. They should, however, be available for purchase tomorrow at comic shops, along with tomorrow's new comics.

Here's an exclusive preview of America vs the Justice Society in case you are still on the fence on whether or not to get this. In my honest opinion? The fact that it's a well-crafted story that examines the history of the Justice Society on Earth-2 and allows Helena Wayne to function as a lawyer are two of the major selling points of this miniseries!

Also, I'll start reviewing this mini this week! :)

Pre-Crisis Earth-2 Justice Society Trade Pre-Orders

In two weeks, DC Comics will be releasing two Classic Justice Society trades to celebrate the 75th anniversary of this team's existence: America vs The Justice Society and Justice Society of America: A Celebration of 75 Years.

I don't know what stories will be collected in the Celebration of 75 Years trade, but judging by the names listed in the credits, it'll include stories from the pre-Crisis Earth-2 up to the Geoff Johns run of the post-Crisis Justice Society of America title. I do, however, highly recommend America vs the Justice Society since it explores the history of the Justice Society on the pre-Crisis Earth-2. It's also the only story where we see the pre-Crisis Helena Wayne functioning as a lawyer. So Helena Wayne fans! If you want to know what the character was like prior to the New 52 and DCYou, here’s your chance to meet her! :)

Here are some links!
