Helena Wayne Set To Appear In Infinite Frontier #1

INFINITE FRONTIER #1
written by Joshua Williamson
art by Xermanico
cover by Mitch Gerads
card stock variant cover by Bryan Hitch
June 22 | $4.99 US | 40 PAGES | 1 (OF 6) | FC | DC

When our heroes saved the Multiverse from Perpetua in Dark Nights: Death Metal, everything was put back where it belonged…and we do mean everything. All the damage from all the Crises was undone, and heroes long thought gone returned from whatever exile they had been in. Most of them, at least. Alan Scott, the Green Lantern from the Justice Society of America, has noticed some of his allies are still missing in action, and he’s determined to find them. There are others, though, who would rather remain hidden than explain themselves, like Roy Harper, a.k.a. Arsenal, a man who should be dead but now is not. Plus, what does all this mean for the DCU’s place in the Multiverse? On opposite sides of a dimensional divide, both Barry Allen and President Superman ponder this question. Not to mention the Darkseid of it all! Or a team of Multiversal heroes called Justice Incarnate!

The Batman To Introduce Earth-2 To The DCEU

This week, THR reported on WarnerMedia’s updated film slate for the current decade. Amongst the cancelled projects include Aquaman spin-off film The Trench directed by James Wan and the Ava DuVernay-directed New Gods film. Wan is still set to direct Aquaman 2 and DuVernay is still attached to the upcoming DCTV show Naomi for the CW.

Infinite Frontier Is Here Part 02: Where Does Helena Wayne Fit In?

With the debut of Infinite Frontier #0 this past Tuesday, there are probably more questions than answers as to how some of our favourite characters fit into this new infinite continuity of infinite possibilities. Two of those questions I have concern the Earth-2 Huntress and Power Girl: 'where are they now?' and 'what are their futures?'

At best, with Power Girl, we can probably expect her to still be the Earth-2 survivor of Crisis on Infinite Earths while the rest of Justice Society were all integrated into the main DC Earth. The events of Infinite Crisis that saw the brief return of the Earth-2 Superman and Lois Lane are most likely still a part of Power Girl's canon in the Infinite Frontier era. But what about her long lost best friend, the original Huntress from Earth-2?

Infinite Frontier Is Here Part 01: The Omniverse Explained

This week, DC officially started their Infinite Frontier era with the one-shot Infinite Frontier #0, which gave readers a glimpse of the new status quo. During their two month event, Future State, DC also released the Generations: Shattered and Generations: Forged one-shots, which introduced readers to the Linearverse.

Just what exactly is the Linearverse, and how does this tie into the current Omniverse Dark Nights Death Metal established? Is the Metaverse from Doomsday Clock still relevant? How does it all come together in a cohesive DC timeline that actually makes sense? More importantly, how do characters like Power Girl and the original Helena Wayne Huntress tie into the main DC canon moving forward, especially as characters tied to DC's Earth-2 universe?

Earth-2 Huntress Makes A Surprise Cameo in DC Love Is A Battlefield One-Shot

It's Valentine's Day today! My favourite day of the year for talking about Helena Wayne's love life, and making Valentine's Day graphics with Huntress and Power Girl. (In fact, you can check out the ones I've already made this year on my Instagram.)

Normally, on this day, I would be writing essays, opinion pieces, or even a fun 'Top #s' list on Helena Wayne's significant relationships. But for once, DC actually delivered the goods themselves!

Death Metal Ends And Infinite Frontier Begins

DC Comics welcomes the first week of 2021 with a big bang! Literally! On the first week of January, Dark Nights: Death Metal delivered its epic finale that not only launched DC's two-month event Future State on the same day, but more importantly, started the new era of DC: Infinite Frontier

What exactly is Infinite Frontier? It's hard to say at this point in time with so many details still being revealed as 2021 continues to roll out. What we do know as of Death Metal's conclusion is that DC is back to—spoiler alert—having an infinite multiverse again. Huh? What does this even mean? Does this mean the pre-Crisis DC Multiverse is back or something different? Well, the answer to that is 'both.'

Earth-2 Takes Centre Stage In Tomorrow's Tales From The Dark Multiverse: Crisis On Infinite Earths #1!

Tomorrow, Tales from the Dark Multiverse: Crisis on Infinite Earths #1 comes out alongside Dark Nights: Death Metal #6, with Earth-2 taking centre stage in tomorrow's one-shot. True to the form of the Tales of the Dark Multiverse series, tomorrow's Crisis one-shot will explore a universe where Earth-2 survived the onslaught of the multiverse's destruction in the hands of the Anti-Monitor instead of Earth-1.

Goodbye 2020! The End Of A Bad Start To A New Decade

Here we are. Last month of a terribly bonkers year. I honestly can't recall what I even accomplished this year since so much of what I had planned went unexecuted as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, plus being tight on funds. Since getting laid off in August, so much of my energy has been going towards pursuing new career opportunities, and so far, that's been going pretty slow. I more recently applied for a writer position at a major entertainment news site, so here's to hoping for some progression.

WarnerMedia Lays Off Numerous DC Universe and DC Comics Employees As Part of Restructuring. What Could This Mean For The Earth-2 Huntress And The Justice Society?

There is no sure way to bring me out of my unannounced hiatus faster than another restructuring of DC Comics as part of an effort to streamline services to AT&T business goals. Given that AT&T acquired a massive debt from their acquisition of TimeWarner and HBO back in 2016, the telecommunications company has since been pressured by their shareholders at Elliot Management to quickly recover that cost. This has no doubt been the driving force of AT&T's corporate culture over the past three years, with a few shakeups during that timeframe.

James Tynion IV Confirms Tom King's Batman/Catwoman Won't Affect Main Batman Continuity. What Does This Mean For Helena Wayne?

Earlier today, Newsarama confirmed the status quo of Tom King's upcoming Batman/Catwoman maxiseries as being 'outside the bounds of continuity' and won't impact James Tynion IV's own plans for Batman and Catwoman in his Batman run. When enquired about the status quo of Catwoman's pregnancy in the main Batman canon in an interview, Tynion had this to say:

The Flash #750: The Future Of Earth-5G Is Up In the Air!

This week, The Flash #750 celebrated the Flash's 80th anniversary, and out of the entire collection of stories featured in the special, only three of them added new chapters to the upcoming Earth-5G initiative: the main Flash feature from Joshua Williamson's run, the Jay Garrick Flash story taking place in Keystone City in 1940, and the epilogue to the recently concluded Flash Forward miniseries, which is also functioning as the prelude to DC's upcoming FCBD 2020 offering: Generation Zero: Gods Among Us.

DC FCBD 2020: Generation Zero The Next Milestone To Earth-5G

DC Announced their 'Top Secret' Gold Book for FCBD 2020 today, Generation Zero, which will be the next milestone on the road to the upcoming Earth-5G.

Without revealing too much, the story is going to centre on Wally West, who will essentially be functioning in a similar capacity to Power Girl in Infinite Crisis and Barry Allen in Flashpoint. In the story, Wally will get a glimpse of the DC Multiverse's past, present, and future, and will get the opportunity to reshape it.

Wonder Woman #750: A Brave New World, A Bold New Timeline

Wonder Woman #750 came out this week, and as an 80th anniversary special, it is everything you can hope for in celebration of the famous Amazonian princess. It concludes Steve Orlando’s ‘Wild Hunt’ storyline from the main title, and features a couple of short stories from various men and women in comics, especially ones who have contributed to the narrative of DC’s feminist icon in some capacity.

All featured stories are heartwarming reminders of everything Wonder Woman represents and all that we can aspire to be if we followed her example. Some of my favourite stories in this special include the ones from Mariko Tamaki and Elena Casagrande, Gail Simone and Colleen Doran, Greg Rucka and Nicola Scott, Marguerite Bennett and Laura Braga, Vita Ayala and Amancay Nahuelpan. The one recurring theme in most of these stories is that it's okay to be flawed. Just learn from your mistakes, learn to be kind, and always strive to be better.

Earth-5G Starting Much Sooner This Month?

We knew going into the new year that a new official DC timeline would kickstart Earth-5G sometime later in 2020. However, DC co-publisher Dan DiDio announced yesterday that the new timeline will officially start in Wonder Woman #750 out later this month on 22 January—the same day that The Huntress: Origins will be released to comic book stores. The story debuting the new timeline will be written by DC superstar Scott Snyder with artwork by the equally talented Bryan Hitch. The story will also officially establish Wonder Woman as DC's first superhero on this new DC Earth.

The Start Of A New Decade: My Plans For 2020

Today is the first day of a new year and also the start of a new decade. With the start of a new decade comes a new beginning, and of course, a lot of self-reflecting to decide what I want to do differently for the next ten years of my life. (Well, apart from the fact that I'll be turning 40 in six years time and I clearly need to start asking myself what I'm doing with my life.)

Having reflected on the last decade—which I described as polarising—I have to say I am quite displeased with the way I've been running this website, and I'm especially not happy about the way I've been conducting myself in the past 10 years. Having looked back on where I've made mistakes and where I need to make improvements, I've mapped out what I am going to do differently in this decade to improve the quality of my content and other people's experience starting with 2020.

Huntress Cameo In Crisis On Infinite Earths Part 3

Tuesday night, The CW aired Part 3 of their 5-episode event, Crisis on Infinite Earths, and the first 48 seconds began with Huntress (Helena Kyle) running for her life as the skies of New Gotham (Earth-203) began to turn red. While making her way back to the Clocktower, Oracle (Barbara Gordon) makes one last stand seconds before the antimatter wave wipes their Earth—and them—from existence.

Crisis on Infinite Earths will conclude 14 January 2020.
